What is important to us as an owner-managed company
The preservation of our environment as the basis of life for future generations, the safeguarding of jobs and the continuous improvement of working conditions are a very special concern for us. Social awareness is in our blood. Because only if each individual gets better can we achieve the 1.5 degree target (Paris Climate Agreement) together.
The four levers of the neutral position
Buck's goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030 in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2045. To this end, we have defined four levers:
1. Increase energy efficiency
In the interdisciplinary team, waste is already being uncovered and possibilities for increasing efficiency are sought, planned and implemented. As an organization, we undergo an annual energy management audit: the SpaEV for SMEs.
2. Expand the supply of renewable energies
We are continuously looking for ways to support the expansion of green energy sources. Back in 2015, we invested in a wind farm that produces around 25,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually. Of this, 1,836,547 kWh per year can be derived from our commitment. In addition, our company roofs are to be equipped with additional photovoltaic systems to generate electricity for our own use.
3. Expand the purchase of green electricity
In order to support the goals set, the purchase of green electricity is to be prioritised.
4. Compensatory measures
The use of carbon credits serves as a supplement to the achievement of targets and is to be kept to a minimum in order to offset unavoidable CO2 emissions.

- We strive to reduce the use of packaging material and environmentally problematic materials.
- By designing processes appropriately, we take all necessary measures to use energy sparingly (water, electricity and gases) and to avoid or minimize emissions (wastewater, exhaust gases and waste heat).
- We involve all contractors in the efforts to improve environmental protection measures.
- We work with our customers to achieve resource savings in order to constantly improve our environmental policy.
- We provide the necessary resources to achieve the environmental goals.
- We inform the public about our environmental policy, environmental goals, environmental programs and the environmental impact of the company if they are interested.
